Fun Browser games to play with friends during lockdowns

Skribbl.io

It’s basically online Pictionary. Be the first to guess what is being drawn by simply typing it in chat and score the most points. At the end of each round, a winner is crowned. Call your best (or better yet: your worst) artistic friends for a private session and let hilarity ensue. Have fun!

CATAN UNIVERSE

It’s the classic board game, but online. Gather resources, trade, build and destroy friendships from the comfort of your home. It may take some getting used to the interface, but it’s loads of fun as soon as you’ve got the hang of it. You can choose the classic board, or a random one. Other options are paid features.

There’s also a free official app on smartphones for this game, so check it out in the Play Store!

POKÉMON SHOWDOWN

A Pokémon Battle Simulator. Nothing more, but certainly nothing less either! Make your own teams or pick randomly generated competitive teams and challenge players from around the world, or your friends. This simulator is used by pro players who want to test a team first and then make them to win tournaments in the official games. Check it out and step up your game in Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield for the Nintendo Switch!

WANDERERS.IO

Wanderers.io is a multiplayer strategy game where you lead a tribe of tiny people through a hostile sandbox. You don’t give direct orders to your minions – instead they interact with the objects in sight if they have the right tools – for example an axe will allow minion to cut down trees and a bow will let him hunt animals. You try to stay alive in a hostile environment for as long as you can.
You can play this game with friends in a private server, so start your adventure together!

WILDS.IO

Same creator, different genre. This one is a Hack and Slash Web Game with Viking-style characters, RPG elements and a fun combat system, in which you get to form a clan and take on other players or NPC’s. Roll, slice and dice your way through the battlefield, get gold and upgrade your gear for even more carnage.

CARDS AGAINST HUMANITY

Cards Against Humanity, a card game where you need to finish a sentence or answer a question using existing cards. The funniest answer wins. Simple!
There are loads of other platforms where you can play the game, like Wordner and Pretend You’re Xyzzy, but we’re a fan of the airconsole version, in which you can use your smartphones as controllers.
Also: Azala.info has a pretty solid version!

FACTS SPRING 2020 CANCELLED DUE TO CORONA / COVID-19

Since 1993, the FACTS organisers have been working their hardest to do right by the thousands of fans that come together in Ghent. We always aim to create a safe space for all our fans to gather, be themselves and make unforgettable memories with like-minded people and guests from all over the world.

With the well-being, health and safety of our visitors, exhibitors, crew and partners as our main priority, FACTS has been closely following and monitoring the evolution of the outbreak and spread of COVID-19, the Corona pandemic, during the last days.

Since the situation in Belgium is becoming more critical every day and since the US government announced travel restrictions to Europe, FACTS has decided to cancel the FACTS Spring 2020 edition due to force majeure.

After considering all possible safety measures, we have ultimately decided to follow the guidance of the local health organisations and governments indicating that mass events should be cancelled.

As our main goal is to offer our amazing community the unique experience they deserve and to guarantee their safety, we simply were left with no other option.

It pains us to take this decision, but we are already looking forward to the next gathering with all our fans, exhibitors and guests on 24 & 25 October in Flanders Expo Ghent. In the meantime, we have worked very hard to guarantee an even more impressive line-up of stars and we are excited to announce that Ian Somerhalder, Rebecca Mader & Troy Baker have already confirmed that they will be present to meet all their fans in Belgium on 24 & 25 October. More guests and surprises will be announced in the coming months.

All our visitors, exhibitors and partners will be contacted personally by e-mail very soon, with more information regarding the next steps. All entry tickets will remain valid for FACTS in October, but visitors will get the choice: keep the ticket(s) for October or ask for a refund. More detailed info on that will follow soon.

We appreciate the support we have received in the past week. The feedback was invaluable in helping us determine this decision.

Kind regards,

The FACTS team
