Technopolis is a Belgian no-profit science centre with a clear mission: Everything starts with WOW.
We want to be the gateway to science and technology, to amaze children, to excite young people and to inspire adults. Because
that’s where it starts! If you manage to fascinate people, there is a chance that they will start to experiment, start to explore and start
to discover. We don’t pretend to be the hub of all knowledge where you learn everything. However, we want to provide a tasting,
where no prior knowledge is required and where that first contact tastes like more. At FACTS we’ll try to translate our mission to
the world of fandom, fantasy, animation, comics, toys and science fiction. How can we use science and technology to enrich our
own interest, passions and fandom?
To answer this question Technopolis will bring its laser cutters, powerful cutting and engraving machines, which can turn cardboard,
wood and plastic into pieces of cosplay, fanart, board game scenery, … Visitors of FACTS will get the chance to create their own
basic designs, whilst getting a taste of the laser cutting technology. At the same time we’ll produce our own creations live to
illustrate the endless possibilities of the technology and hopefully get an enthusiastic WOW.
