Actress, producer and TV director Shannen Doherty is probably best known as Prue Halliwell in the popular witchcraft series Charmed, in which she starred from 1998 until 2001. She also had a key role in the famous teen series Beverly Hills, 90210, in which she played Brenda Walsh. Besides those two hallmark series, Shannen Doherty has been seen shining in many other TV and movie productions.
Prue Halliwell – Shannen Doherty’s role – is one of the three original witch sisters in the late 90’s / early 2000’s series Charmed. Shannen Doherty left the show after season 3, but was one of the reasons that Charmed became an instant hit, together with Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs. Doherty even directed a few episodes in seasons 2 and 3. The sheer number of reruns of Charmed on Belgian and international television confirms the popularity and quality of the show.
As Brenda Walsh, Shannen Doherty was the female lead in the famous teen series Beverly Hills, 90210. She left after 4 seasons, but there is no doubt that she was a fan favourite. Just recently, it has been announced that Beverly Hills, 90210 will return with the original cast for a new season. The movie business also had the pleasure of welcoming the talents of Shannen Doherty, in films like Heathers, Mallrats, Obsessed,Jailbreakers and many more.
Shannen Doherty started her career as a child star in the early 80’s, with roles in Little House on the Prairie and Our House. She has had her own reality show, was an excellent presenter, shined as a model, and survived cancer. There is no doubt that Shannen Doherty is a strong woman with an equally strong personality.
