Love ‘em or hate ‘em, few other independent creations have lasted as long, garnered as much popularity or had as wide-spread an impact as the TMNT. Though no longer under his control, as the most public and recognised co-creator, figure-head and chronicler, Kevin Eastman will have a thing or two to say about his reptilian creations and their life-span. And if that’s not enough, what about parallel careers as a writer, an artist, a publisher and a celebrity! Join us for an in-depth discussion and join in during the Q&A session.
BIOGRAPHY
Cowabunga! Pizza parties! Ninjas! New York’s sewers! Saying only one of these is enough to make you burst out in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song. 90’s playgrounds were unthinkable without at least half of the kids adapting the ninjutsu of Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael.
But forget the renaissance artists, we have the modern day legend Kevin B. Eastman to thank for the creative drawings and storylines of the four iconic turtle characters since 1983. In the past decades, this entertaining mix of ninjutsu turtles, awesome antagonists and a unique style has taken the world by storm through comics, TV shows, blockbuster movies, lots of cross-overs and many, many more entertainment forms.
Today, it is clear that Mr. Kevin Eastman has thoroughly left his mark on pop culture with a timeless phenomenon that still holds strong today. And for that, we can’t thank him enough!
So come and thank this artistic hero (in a half shell) in person at FACTS Spring 2019, on April 6-7 in Flanders Expo Ghent!
