Creating impactful, socially and environmentally responsible events

Together, we aim to:
  • reduce our environmental footprint
  • support communities in their transition to a sustainable economy
  • promote innovation
  • embrace diversity and inclusion in all its dimensions

As part of the Easyfairs Group, we are members of the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge and commit to being net zero by 2050 and to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

THE 6 MAIN INITIATIVES

to achieve these objectives:

1.

Production & waste

We use all-in stands when possible

We have implemented a strict waste management and waste reduction plan

  • We sort all waste
    • We put sorting bins at strategic locations
    • We provide exhibitors with waste kits
  • We are committed to reducing plastic and paper waste
    • We use recyclable plastic for our production needs
    • We favor digital communications and provide digital signage whenever possible
    • We reuse printed banners, flags, and signs for future editions of FACTS
  • We use eco-friendly cleaning products

2.

Energy

We use renewable energy

  • The solar panels at the roof of Flanders Expo provide FACTS with green energy

We implement energy conservation measures

  • Flanders Expo is equipped with LED lighting, as well as our all-in stands
  • We limit our energy consumption by not only strictly controlling the heating, but also the lighting and HVAC levels during the buildup and dismantling of FACTS
    • We turn off electricity at night
    • We limit the temperature to 18°C

We take measures to save water

  • The toilets at Flanders Expo have eco-friendly taps

3.

Travel & accommodation

We’re aiming to reduce travel emissions

  • Flanders Expo has electric vehicle charging stations
  • We encourage visitors to come to FACTS on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport
    • Trams from the city center of Ghent stop at Flanders Expo
  • We encourage visitors and exhibitors to carpool to FACTS
