BIOGRAPHY

If you’d make a list with defining 1980’s action stars, then you simply cannot leave out Dolph Lundgren. This legendary Swedish actor and director gained fame as Rocky IV’s main antagonist Ivan Drago in 1985 and quickly rose to ranks in a long list of Hollywood blockbusters. From the classics of Masters of the UniverseThe PunisherUniversal Soldier and Red Scorpion to the recent blockbusters The Expendables (1-2-3), Creed II and Aquaman, this man has been a consistent bad-ass and respectable movie hero. And now you can meet him at FACTS, in Flanders Expo Ghent, on April 6-7!

Dolph Lundgren’s career took off when the audience got to see him shine in 1985’s Rocky IV, as the Soviet boxer Ivan Drago. And even though the fight between the Soviet Drago and the American Rocky was inherently meant to represent the Cold War conflict, you couldn’t help but have immense respect for the blonde menace.

Lundgren had made an impact, because the roles just kept coming. Main roles even, such as He-Man in Masters of the Universe (1987), Lt. Nikolai Rachenko in Red Scorpion (1988) and Frank Castle in The Punisher (1989). But in equally impressive fashion, Dolph Lundgren was able to keep on delivering amazing villain roles, too, as became clear in the unforgettable role of Andrew Scott/GR13 in Universal Soldier (1992).

Even today, Dolph Lundgren is leaving his mark on Hollywood, both as actor and director. As an actor, you got to see him shine as Gunner Jensen in all three The Expendables movies, as King Nereus in the movie Aquaman and once again as Ivan Drago in Creed II, where he managed to turn the Rocky IV monster in to a man. Those last two movies are in theatres today.

Dolph Lundgren has had his fair share of time on the TV screen as well. One role that stood out was his portrayal of Konstantin Kovar in DC Comics’ popular series Arrow. And even that wears the Dolph Lundgren seal of quality.

Dolph Lundgren will be a guest for FACTS Spring 2019, on April 6-7 in Flanders Expo Ghent. He will be available for photoshoots, autograph sessions and panels on both days.
