Dave Gibbons was born on april 14th 1949 in the UK.

He published his first comics in the fanzine Fantasy Advertiser in 1970.
As of 1977, he was part of the original team of artists that worked for 2000 AD for series such as ‘Judge Dredd’ and ‘Rogue Trooper’. For Marvel UK, he did ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘The Iron Legion.

He is best known for ‘Watchmen’ which was written by Alan Moore and published by DC Comics.
Its the only comic which won a Hugo Award. This milestone in the comic world became a major motion-picture from director Zack Snyder (“300”).

With Frank Miller, he collaborated on another award-winning saga : MARTHA WASHINGTON.
In the 1990s, he began to write comics such as BATMAN VERSUS PREDATOR, WORLD’S FINEST (featuring Superman and Batman) or 1963 which got illustrated by Mike Mignola.
He even did an alternative comics version of the Bible.
