Aimée de Jongh (1988) is a prizewinning Dutch animator, comic author and
illustrator from Rotterdam. Her work is inspired by European comics and
Japanese manga, and is often praised for the strong facial expressions,
atmosphere, sense of drama and unpredictable plots. Already, she is often
mentioned as one of the most talented new comic authors in the Netherlands.
Aimée studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy, where she focussed on
handdrawn animated film. After graduating, she started working on her first
short film “Aurora”, which screened at many international filmfestivals. In
the same year, her daily comic series “Snippers” started in the Dutch
newspaper Metro. After working for various TV-shows and studios, Aimée
published her first graphic novel “De terugkeer van de wespendief / The
return of the honeybuzzard” in October 2014.
