With Brent Spiner, FACTS welcomes a sci-fi legend to its October edition of 2017. With the iconic roles of Data in Star Trek, Dr. Okun in Independence Day and Sidney in Outcast, Brent Spiner put his mark firmly on the sci-fi genre.
Brent Spiner has shined on stage for nearly 40 years now and he hasn’t wasted a single moment of his professional time. His resume is literally huge. And still, when someone says Brent Spiner, it’s often followed by ‘Data from Star Trek‘. Spiner has given shape to the Soong android of Starfleet since Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987 -1994). He reprised that role rol in the movies Star Trek Generations (1994), Star Trek: First Contact (1996), Star Trek: Insurrection (1998), and Star Trek: Nemesis (2002). Spiner was also in the spin-off series Enterprise (2004) as a different character.
To remind you just how cool and capable Brent Spiner was in the Star Trek universe, we would like to point out that he took on three main roles in the episode ‘Brothers‘ (1990): Data, Lore and Noonian Soong. A strong piece of acting. No wonder he won a Saturn Award in the late 90’s.
Doctors and demons
Other memorable roles of Brent Spiner: the enthusiastic and slightly mad Dr. Brackish Okun in Independence Day (1996) and the sequel Independence Day: Resurgence (2016). And in Outcast (2016-2017), Spiner sends shivers down your spine in a phenomenal way as the mysterious Sidney. Two completely different roles, both executed equally beautifully.
Brent Spiner is also a welcome guest on many theatre stages, for plays and musicals. And as if that acting talent isn’t impressive enough, he has a singing career and great voice acting skills on top of it as well. His voice can be heard in – among other series – Star Wars Rebels, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., Robot Chicken, Generator Rex, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Gargoyles, and The Simpsons. His long list of accomplishments can be seen here.
FACTS is quite proud to welcome this great actor to FACTS October 2017, in Flanders Expo Ghent, on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd. Brent Spiner will be available for Q&A, signing sessions and photoshoot sessions on both days.
