Brian Azzarello is one of comics’ most reliable and most active crime writers. Creator of 100 Bullets, author behind many Batman, Joker, Superman, Wonder Woman and other major Vertigo and DC Comics series. A true comic legend.
If every comic fan were to recite his top 10 list of ‘favourite comic authors’, then Brian Azzarello would be in it 100% of the time. He has had such a huge impact on the comic world in the last two decades, that it has become hard to find work in which he didn’t have his influence, directly or in spirit.
His most notable work – one could argue – includes Spaceman, Batman: Broken City, and the Harvey and Eisner Award-winning 100 Bullets, all created in collaboration with artist Eduardo Risso.
He’s also in charge for the stories behind DC’s recent relaunch of Wonder Woman, which takes a more horror-ish approach to the Amazon’s story.
Brian Azzarello was also a screenwriter for the animated versions of The Killing Joke (2016) and Batman: Gotham Knight (2008).
But the list doesn’t stop there: Hellblazer, Joker, Luthor, The Dark Knight III: The Master Race, the lengthy series Superman: For Tomorrow, Before Watchmen (Comedian & Rorschach),… There are a lot more stories to thank him for.
But we suggest that you come and thank him yourself at FACTS!
Want to meet Brian Azzarello? Then come to FACTS Spring 2018, on April 7-8 in Flanders Expo, Ghent. He will be present in the Artist Alley on both days.
