Olivier Ledroit was born on June 3th, 1969 in Meaux, France. He studies for 2 years at Duperrez, Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués. After drawing some illustrations for card game magazines, he meets Froideval en draws the first volume of “Chroniques de la Lune Noire”, which is published by Zenda, in ’89.

This series opens the path to a new style of comic in the 90’s and bestowes on Ledroit the title of godfather of the gothic comic.

In ’94 he publishes “Xoco” (Editions Vents d’Ouest), with Mosdi as scenarist. He continues with “Sha” (Editions Soleil) in ’96 with a scenario by Pat Mills, and in 2000 with “Requiem” (Nickel). At the same time a collection of illustrations, titled “L’univers féerique d’Olivier Ledroit”, is released by publisher Daniel Maghen.
