Actor Manu Bennett, born in New Zealand, has appeared in movies including in 30 Days Of Night (Deputy Billy Kitka), Lantana and The Marine, but his most high-profile work to date has been in Starz’ Spartacus series, as ludicrously chiselled slave Crixus – The Champion of Capua. The performance caught Peter Jackson’s eye, leading him to cast Bennett as the dwarf-bothering Pale Orc, Azog, in the Hobbit trilogy.
Besides Spartacus: War of the Damned he also had the leading role in the prequel series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena
He can also be seen in Xena: Warrior Princess and The Beastmaster series.
