Ian Whyte was born on 17 September 1971 in Bangor, North Wales, UK, and brought up in Brighton.

His length is 2.16 m (7′ 1″). Before acting, he was an international basketball player for nine years.

In 2004, he played the iconic Predator in Paul W. Anderson’s sci-fi action film Alien vs. Predator (AVP).

In 2007, Whyte reprised his role as Predator in AVP: Requiem. He was Frances De La Tour’s body double for the role of the tall Madame Maxime, Head Mistress of the Beauxbatons Academy, in the Harry Potter series.

Ian continues to play fearsome horror, fantasy and science fiction characters. He played, for example, Sheikh Suliema in Clash of the Titans, Oozaru in Dragonball:Evolution and the Last Engineer in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.

In the second season of Game of Thrones, he has a recurring part as the fearsome and sinister Gregor Clegane.
