Billy Dee Williams was born April 6, 1937, in New York, NY.

After playing in numerous plays on stage on Broadway (such as Martin Luther King Jr.) and in plenty television series, he began appearing in movies. His best known movie in that period is was the 1981 Sylvester Stallone action movie Nighthawks.

His major role came when he was cast as intergalactic entrepreneur and rogue Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He had originally auditioned for the role of Han Solo during the casting of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. He voiced Lando Calrissian later in the video gameq Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Star Wars Battlefront

His other great film moment was as district attorney Harvey Dent in Tim Burton’s Batman

Besides being an actor he is also a singer, voice actor, a writer and a painter.
